Owner Surrender Information

"Our goal is to help every cat stay safe—and to make sure we have room for the ones with truly nowhere else to go."

A Foster-Based Rescue

South Carolina Community Cat Project is a foster-based nonprofit rescue, which means we do not have a physical shelter and rely entirely on the availability of our foster homes.

Because the animals we serve often have no other safety net, we must prioritize our limited space for:

  • Abandoned cats & kittens
  • Medical & critical cases
  • Strays with no known owner
  • At-risk shelter cats

For this reason, we are typically unable to take in owned pets or owner surrenders.
